What does the appraisal cost ?
My vehicle appraisal fee is only $149 plus tolls and mileage* . That's about 1/2 of what some appraisal companies charge! If you would like to include a road test to evaluate drivability (performance, suspension, steering, braking, body integrity) the fee is only an additional $49. I will provide a discount for multi-vehicle appraisals.
My fee for a diminished value appraisal is only $249 plus tolls and mileage* .

How is payment made?
- Payment is due at the time of appraisal. I will accept cash, a personal check, cashier's check or money order. However, the appraisal will not be issued until the check or money order has cleared.
- If you will not be present at the time of the appraisal (for example, a pre-purchase appraisal and you are out of state), payment is due in advance. If you need the appraisal conducted on short notice and there are two ways to assure there will be no delay waiting for me to receive payment and for the payment to clear.
- PayPal: I can accept payment via PayPal. Simply use the “Send Money” feature of your PayPal account and send the payment to onecarguy9@msn.com
- Western Union: They have offices in about every large grocery store and many convenience stores. Simply make your payment there and notify me of the claim number so I can retrieve your payment at a store near me.
What do you get for your money?
I conduct a very detailed visual inspection including exterior, interior, chassis, and engine compartment, with particular attention to hidden rust or any specific concerns you may have about the vehicle. I also conduct a mechanical inspection including such items as engine (start, run, accelerate, re-start), exhaust, lighting systems, instruments/gauges, accessories, leaks, etc.
I take extensive detailed digital photographs to be included in my report as needed to show specific details. If you order a road test, I will drive the vehicle to evaluate drivability - drivetrain performance, steering, suspension, braking, body integrity, and again any specific concerns you may have.
I return to my office to conduct a market survey - research the vehicle, price guides, recent collector vehicle auction sales, and other comparable sales to arrive at a current market value. I then prepare my report. The appraisal report, approximately 6 pages, will be very detailed, printed with color photographs, and bound in a clear cover. I will contact you to review my results with you, then mail the final report to you, usually just a few days after the actual appraisal.
